Pet Food Distribution

Ohio Paws with Purpose's dog and cat food distribution occurs at Willow Praise Church from 8 to 10am on the 4th Saturday of each month from January through October. Due to the holidays, distribution occurs on the 3rd Saturday of the month for November and December. The church is located at 32901 Vine St., Willowick, OH 44095​. There is no requirement to receive food, other than need.

Medical Fund

Ohio Paws with Purpose's Medical Fund will cover the following expenses only for cats and dogs:
  • First office visit to a veterinarian - $75
  • Surgery cost less than $1,000 - $150
  • Surgery cost $1,001 to 1,999 - $250
  • Surgery cost $2,000 to $3,999 - $350
  • Surgery cost $4,000 to $5,999 - $500
  • Surgery cost $6,000 or more - $700

​The medical program is ONLY for pets that are ill. Routing checkups and shots are excluded. A detailed estimate from the veterinarian must be provided on the veterinarian's letterhead and must be signed. Owner must inform veterinarian that Ohio Paws with Purpose is permitted to inquire about the pet's illness and to establish validity of the cost. Payment will be made directly to the veterinarian AFTER the surgery has been performed and upon receipt of a detailed cost of surgery. Under no circumstances will OPwP pay for surgeries that have already been performed or unpaid bills for past veterinarian costs.

The following documentation is required:
  • Your name, address and phone number
  • Photo ID
  • Close-up, clear photo of the pet with no humans in the photo and name of pet
  • Proof of government assistance or of low income
  • Name, address and phone number of veterinarian
  • Exact date and time of veterinarian appointment

Pet & Feral Spay/Neuter Program

Pet & Feral Spay/Neuter Program

We only work with PetFix in Euclid, you would be responsible for getting your pet to the appointment in Euclid. 

Ohio Paws with Purpose provides vouchers for FREE spay/neuter services for cats performed at PetFix in Euclid for pets. Our organization provides partial payment to PetFix towards the cost of the spay/neuter of dogs. The owner must pay any cost in excess of the amount paid for their dog's procedure. OPwP will, however, also pay for a rabies vaccine if needed.A maximum of 2 pets per household per year may obtain this service. To obtain a voucher, please send an email to [email protected]. You must provide your photo ID and proof that you are receiving government assistance to obtain a voucher.
Ohio Paws with Purpose will also allow INDIVIDUALS who wish to spay or neuter feral cats near their home to apply for assistance. A maximum of 3 feral cats may be spayed/neutered. This includes surgery, rabies shot and ear tip performed at PetFix in Euclid. To obtain voucher(s), please send an email to [email protected]. 
**Individuals associated with TNR programs, shelters or rescues whereby an organization would have paid for the service DO NOT QUALIFY.

  • Weight, for dogs only

Veteran/Disabled Person's Program

Ohio Paws with Purpose will pay the adoption fee, not to exceed $200, for ONE companion dog or cat for veterans or a 100% disabled person, with the following stipulations:
  • Maximum of 10 companion pet adoptions will be awarded per year.
  • Adoptions must be through an established rescue/shelter.
  • Proof of service is required for veterans. Form DD214 would qualify as proof of service. For disabled persons, an SS letter stating disability would serve as proof.
  • This program is available to residents of Lake, Geauga, Cuyahoga and Ashtabula Counties. 
  • Adoption must be made within 3 months of being notified that you have been selected.

There is no expiration date for this program, however, the OPwP reserves the right to cancel this program at any time.

Forever In My Heart

Forever In My Heart is a program which helps pet parents financially cover the costs associated with helping their pet cross the Rainbow Bridge. Should you need assistance, please send an email to [email protected] with the following details: 
  • Name and phone number of the veterinarian who will perform the service
  • Your full name
  • Name of your pet
  • Photo of your pet
We will contact your veterinarian to verify that the pet is in fact terminally ill and requires assistance crossing the bridge. Any other reason for euthanasia does not qualify. You must also provide proof that you are receiving government assistance. The maximum amount contributed by OPwP is $75 and will be paid directly to the veterinarian. No exceptions.
